1. Who these terms are with
These Terms are between you and [PLACEHOLDER: legal name and legal form], at [PLACEHOLDER: legal address] (“we”, “us” or “Tarot Journal”). They govern the Tarot Journal iPhone app, website and related services.
2. The service
Tarot Journal lets you ask a question, draw tarot cards, receive generated reflective text, write notes, return for a follow-up reflection, browse a card collection and view period-based journal patterns. Some functionality is free and some requires an auto-renewing subscription.
The app requires an internet connection for newly generated readings, personalized daily sentences and generated period portraits. Previously stored journal content and locally calculated features may remain available offline.
3. Reflection and entertainment only
Tarot Journal is a journaling and self-reflection tool. It does not predict the future and does not provide medical, mental-health, legal, financial, investment or other professional advice. Do not use a reading as a substitute for qualified professional help or as the sole basis for a high-impact decision. If you may be in danger or facing an emergency, contact the appropriate local emergency service.
4. Eligibility
You must be at least [PLACEHOLDER: minimum age] and legally able to agree to these Terms. If the law where you live requires parental or guardian consent, you may use the app only after that consent is given.
5. Subscriptions, trials and billing
- Subscriptions are offered and billed through Apple’s App Store using the Apple Account associated with your device.
- The app shows the current price, billing period and any introductory trial before you confirm a purchase. This website intentionally does not state prices.
- An auto-renewing subscription renews for the displayed period unless you cancel it through Apple at least as required by Apple’s current subscription rules.
- You can manage or cancel a subscription in iOS Settings under your Apple Account’s Subscriptions page. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Use Restore Purchases in the app’s Settings to ask Apple to restore an eligible purchase.
- If a free trial is offered, its duration and conversion terms are shown before purchase. Unless cancelled before the trial ends, it converts to the paid subscription shown by Apple.
- Apple handles billing and refund decisions. Request refunds through Apple, subject to Apple’s policies and applicable consumer law.
Feature access can depend on a valid entitlement returned by Apple. Temporary network, StoreKit or provider failures may delay confirmation or generated content.
6. Acceptable use
You may use the app only lawfully and for personal purposes. You must not:
- probe, disrupt, overload or bypass security, quotas, subscription checks or access controls;
- automate requests, scrape the service or use generated output to build a competing dataset or service without written permission;
- submit content that is unlawful, abusive, infringing or intended to manipulate the service into performing unrelated tasks;
- reverse engineer or redistribute the app except where applicable law expressly allows it; or
- use the service in a way that harms another person or violates their privacy or rights.
We may limit or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect the service, comply with law or address a material breach.
7. Your content and privacy
You retain rights in the questions and notes you write. You give us a limited permission to process submitted content only as needed to operate, secure and improve the requested service, including sending defined generation fields to processors as explained in the Privacy Policy.
Do not enter another person’s confidential information unless you have a lawful basis and permission to do so.
8. Generated content
Interpretations, daily sentences and generated portraits are produced automatically. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, repetitive, inappropriate for your circumstances or inconsistent across requests. We do not guarantee factual accuracy, outcomes, availability or that generated text will meet your expectations. You are responsible for deciding whether and how to use it.
9. Intellectual property
The app’s software, design, original text, databases, branding and compilation are owned by or licensed to [PLACEHOLDER: legal name] and are protected by applicable law. These Terms give you only the limited right to use the service; they do not transfer ownership.
The app depicts Rider–Waite–Smith tarot imagery. Historical card artwork that is in the public domain remains public domain; no ownership is claimed over public-domain material itself. Translations, adaptations, presentation, metadata and other original additions may still be protected. Third-party names and marks belong to their respective owners.

10. Availability and changes
We may change, suspend or discontinue features, subject to applicable law. Generation depends on third-party infrastructure and may be unavailable or rate-limited. The reviewed service currently applies a three-reading daily generation limit to free requests and a six-reading daily limit to premium requests, measured by UTC day; limits may change if the service and these Terms are updated.
11. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of uninterrupted availability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms excludes consumer guarantees or other rights that cannot legally be excluded.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or for loss of data, profits, opportunities or goodwill arising from use of or inability to use the service. Our aggregate liability relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or [PLACEHOLDER: liability floor and currency].
This limitation does not apply where liability cannot be limited, including liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or mandatory consumer rights.
13. Governing law and disputes

14. Apple terms

Accordingly, Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to the App Store license unless the owner later configures a custom EULA in App Store Connect. These Terms govern the service aspects not displaced by that EULA. Apple is not a party to these Terms.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect service, legal or operational changes. The “Last updated” date shows the latest version. Where required, we will give additional notice. Changes do not retroactively reduce rights already accrued under mandatory law.
